Independence Matters

Helping everyone, regardless of age, disability or illness, be an active part of the community.

United Way is creating access to opportunities for people with disabilities, seniors and the chronically ill. There are many barriers that prevent the inclusion of these people in the every day activities of Elkhart County. The United Way believes that the ability to participate actively dramatically improves mental health, sense of self-worth and overall satisfaction with life.

Addiction Recovery

Living with an addiction can cause tremendous turmoil in a person's life. The United Way supports efforts that provide on-going support and training that help participants learn to cope with their disease and continue to lead productive lives.

Assisted Living

United Way is helping more people live as independently as possible. By assisting with medical care, food support and skills training more people can live in their own home rather than moving to a nursing facility. Independent living provides a higher quality of life for disabled and elderly individuals in our community.

Community Connections

Getting rid of access barriers is only the beginning. The United Way is involved with programs that create meaningful engagement for people. These initiatives focus on memory skills, social development and appropriate exercise to create happier, less isolated lifestyles.

WHY LIVE UNITED.

When we reach out a hand to one we influence the condition of all.

When you give to the United Way, you're lending a hand to your neighbors, family and friends who live right here in Elkhart County.

When we LIVE UNITED... Elkhart County does more... it's that simple.
