Education

Helping kids build their confidence, character, connections and competence to become leaders.

Each day, more than 1,200 kids are touched through services in the "Today's Youth, Tomorrow's Leaders" strategies. When youth have positive role models and are engaged in positive after-school activities they are less likely to engage in high-risk behaviors that can threaten their success.

After-School Initiatives

Each day, kids get exposure to an adult who cares about them, encouragement and support to do well in school and a chance to be a part of organized recreation. It's working. Kids who participate do better in school and develop the social skills needed to become adult citizen-leaders.

Back-On-Track

Kids don't allways make good decisions. Lapses in judgement can lead to serious consequences. The United Way believes that the community should never give up on its children. The focus is on helping kids learn positive methods of conflict resolution and making amends for their mistakes.

Mentoring

The United Way knows that most successful adults had someone who reached out to them during adolescence. The teenage years are difficult and every kid needs to know there are adults who care. Mentoring is one of the United Ways most effective and treasured strategies.

WHY LIVE UNITED.

When we reach out a hand to one we influence the condition of all.

When you give to the United Way, you're lending a hand to your neighbors, family and friends who live right here in Elkhart County.

When we LIVE UNITED... Elkhart County does more... it's that simple.
