United Way Brings Holiday Cheer to Nappanee Tornado Victims
December 19 2007
Elkhart, IN- This week, the Target Store in Goshen and the United Way of Elkhart County donated 12 decorated holiday trees to local families who were victims of the Nappanee tornados. The trees were distributed to families in Nappanee who had lost their holiday decorations during the tornados this past fall.
Nationally, over 1,500 Target Stores will donate more than 4,500 decorated holiday trees to 1,300 local United Ways nationwide who will in return deliver the trees to families in need as well as to partners such as local shelters and community centers who care for children.
For the past seventeen years, Target and the United Way of Elkhart County have partnered in this program. While, this year trees went to Nappanee, past years’ donations have been given to the Women’s Shelter, local child care facilities and to families within our county.
